Will these 19s fit 2000 GS400?
Will these wheels/tires fit a 2000 GS 400 without rubbing or need for modifications?
Front: 19x8.5 with +39 offset on 245/35/19 tires
Rear: 19x9.5 with +37 offset on 275/30/19 tires
My car has the stock suspension right now. Will these wheels also fit if I lower the car between 1- 1.5 inches?
Thanks,
Mike

I might be going different route. Will the following setup work without rubbing or fender modifications on a stock GS400? How about if I lower the car by about 1 inch?
Fronts: 19x8 on 245/40/19 with +32 offset
Rears 19x10 on 275/35/19 with +44 offset
This setup seems to work based on the Club Lexus wheel fitment guide for the GS. I just want to make sure.
Thanks,
Michael

Thanks for the replies. So far I have one person saying that the fronts may/will rub and another saying that I shouldn't have much rubbing issues. Can anyone else break this tie?
I think the fatter setup will provide a little more ride cushion and extra protection against potholes. Is this a wrong assumption? Will the fatter setup make the car look bad? Does anyone have pics of their GS running on this fat setup?
Also, if my original offset will cause rubbing, what should the correct offset be for these tires?
Thanks,
Michael

you might wanna check with jtanoyo1 again, i have a feeling he got the idea that you were talking about 8.5" wheel in the front.

As for ride cushion, you are right. My 2 choices were 19s fat or 20s. Even though I have 20s now, I sometimes still think about 19s fat. 19s fat is a greate compromise between looks and comfort and I think they still look great. Here is a 19s fat setup:

In searching the ClubLexus forums, I found some threads that indicate that there could be some rubbing with a fat tire setup (245/40/19 and 275/35/19), especially when going in reverse and having the wheel turned or when the car is loaded with passengers. Is this true? Is this true only when the car is lowered or with the stock suspension as well?
Also, how difficult is it to find tires for this setup? I'm looking at the Michellin Pilot Sports A/S for ride comfort.
Can anyone post some pics of a GS with the fat tire setup using the stock suspension?
Thanks,
Michael

i am not sure with stock, but with lowered GS, yes, you will rub a bit with the fat setup. most of the time you rub the front and back of the wheel well, only coz' the overall diameter of the wheel is so big, it rub slightsly ONLY when you put the car in reverse and turn it at full lock.
if you lower your car a lot, of coursre you will start to hit the top of the wheel well, that's easy to understand
the tires, i think it's relatively ok to find the size. not the most common but not too bad. personally i would get the perelli zero over themichellin. michellin is better, but a lot more expensive

I am running 245/40/19's up front and 275/35/19 in the rear.... I'm pretty low also.... just barely tucked... and NO rubbing issues at all even w/ passengers. I often have passengers so I know..... but then I have a higher offset then you. I do admit that when I have my wheels turned.. i can see I'm cutting it pretty close. Just bump down on your tire size and I think you should be OK w/ that offset.
