KenJack,

I had the SP Sport 9000s on my GS400 16" wheels--I loved 'em, but they aren't quiet and they have stiffer sidewalls. I have the 2004 LS430 with the Sport 5000s and these are definitely the tire you're looking for. The wear won't be great but they fit the quiet, comfort bill and they're pretty good in the wet. I live in Houston and we have tons of road construction underway which is why I'm keeping the Sport 5000s instead of going to a more aggressive(read: sharper handling) tire.

I found this old post, and thought to open this can of worms again. lol So what is the most quiet and noise free tire for stock 01 GS430 17" stock wheels with 235/45/17, all reviews steer me into Turanza LS-Z's but they are $220 per tire?! I have Pirelli P Zero Nero MS but they are noisy and I don't know why people like them and say they are quiet?! I had them for 5k miles, at first they were ok, now they are noisy, I will got put air into them to 38 psi to see if it makes difference, I live in FL and it is 95 outside everyday and FL roads have ruff pavement, would that matter? Any suggestions or what tires I should consider? Quietest smoothest ride is the a key!!

Hi Guys,
Im looking for some very quiet-quiet-quiet tires for a
2007 Lexus Gs350 size: 245/40 R-18
I don't care for handling or weather.
I currently have Yoko's 18" but they are very loud i dont know if is because they are kind of bold on one side.
What Quiet tires would you guys recommend ?

Thanks

currently, one of the quietest, smooth riding tires that offers great rim protection is the Bridgestone Serenity...

yah, if you wanna be technical about it...

Bridgestones nomenclature goes a little something like this:

Turanza = touring tire
Potenza = performance tire
Dueler = truck tire
Blizzak = winter tire
Ecopia = low rolling resistance

So, to say its the Turanza with Serenity is just being more specific than just saying Serenity - both are the same thing...

Smile What is th outcome?

Guys, interesting Discussion but nobody posted what they ended up buying.

I have FUSION Zri's installed. They were quite for about 1000 miles and then turned into screaming beasts.

I am also looking for Tyres for my 96' LS400 so appreciate if you can give me feedback for quiet tires with good handling characteristics.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. I'm a picky SOB on tires -- so much so that I've thrown otherwise good, servicable tires into the dumpster because of noise and poor ride quality -- and these Michelins are outstanding for low noise and comfort on my LS430. For a combination of performance and comfort/quiet while maintaining a long service life, I highly recommend them.

Not necessarily. Every tire choice, even if you make the best possible selection to acheive the characteristics that are important to you, is a compromise. There is simply no way to avoid trading off performance in some areas for performance in others -- like the old "tire life vs. grip" tradeoff. Or dry traction vs. wet traction, or handling vs. comfort. It goes down the list like that, so you will have to pick what's important and make the tradeoffs. With reagard to the ES, it will depend upon what you're willing to sacrafice. In the case of the OP, he probably would be better off with a really "grandpa" type of tire, no performance pretensions, etc, if he seriously wants the quietest he can get.

Since this topic was reopened i will give my 0.02.

I have had tons of rims and different sets of tires [not too many] but around 5 different sets now.

Anyways, General Exclaim UHP tires are AWESOME!

Silent, grippy, all around amazing. I was doing my research and reading up on the brand, and as it turns out this tire is an older Continental design, and Continental has something to do with General tire since they bought a portion of the company IIRC.

Anyways, it isn't the cheapest tire on the market, but the cost benefit of this tire is amazing! I will be running these from now on, found my new favorite tire!
