What SUMMER tire to get?

Well it depends on what he is after. Do you want a quiet ride, do you want wheel protection, do you want something super sticky, do you want excellent treadwear, etc.
Let us know that and also take a look on tirerack.com.

What do you think of this tire? It's factory equipment... looks sporty.

I decided to buy...
Thanks for the input. After reading consumer reports and various post on CL and LOC, I decided to try out the Falken ZE-512 Z rated tire. The price was right and the review made this an excellent pick. I also read that all-season tires are not really all-season anymore. There are two sub categories that yield either a "SPORT" or "COMFORT" tire. As you can see from the attached table, the Falken tires really suck in the snow, hence the tread compound and design is not typical all-season.
I think a few CL members have this tire on their car now and I'll post my experiences in a while. Another note... The LS430 tire size is pretty RARE. I searched many manufacutures websites to see if they had a performance tire with the 225/55/17 requirements. I was supprised. I think the same holds true for the GS. When I shopped for tires on my 1998 GS400, the choices where few.
Cheers.

I went ahead and purchased the Falken 225/55/17 tire 2 weeks ago. The tire is an all-season SPORT tire. It performs well on dry and wet roads, but not good on snow. That's what I was looking for. The sidewall is still and it 'appears' to be more low-profile than the stock Turanzas.
The only think I've noticed after having them for a few short drives is the sensitivity. I had the car aligned and it seems to pull a little to the right. I took it back to the tire store and they tell me the car is still aligned and the 'crown' in the road will make it drift the right or left depending on the road. I'm driving about 800 miles this week, so I'll give another report then.

Did you go with the Falken Ziex ZE-512's? or another model Falken?
