Cool Are all Dubs created equal?

Is it just me?

I'm still undecided on going with 19's or 20's. There are alot of cars rolling on Dubs, and the fitment seems perfect. I mean it looks totally good. I look at those cars and it makes me want some Dubs.

On the other hand, I noticed some other cars with Dubs and it looks totally terrible. Its looks like a 4x4 effect and the wheels look like there way to big for the car. I mean there are alot here on CL but I don't want to use anyones pic. Looking at these cars makes me change my mind about Dubs.

Any thoughts?

Well the best solution is suspension. Some folks may be on springs and shocks that only drop it so low. If you really wanted it to have no gap, coilovers are the way to go. Some folks with 20s may not want to go the coilover route but want to get that slight drop. Not exactly 4x4 but it definitely helps.

I say go with 20s but go all the way and throw down on some nice coilovers to compliment. This should solve that problem.

well like 49 said it all depends on style. some like flashy big design wheels and some like simple 5 spoke or mesh type dsigns. but it all can look goofy if you leave the car on oem suspension. definately a lowering will help the look. i always vote coilovers cus you can adjust it to where you like it but its nots always in everyones budget..good luck..

if you get 20s, first i strongly suggest getting something with lips. otherwise the wheel will look very big on the car. and of course you will need to lower the car to look nice

last of all, this is just me, but with 20s, even lowered, i think body kits are very warranted to make the car flow well

There are sooo many variables associated with the look you want. How about this, post a few cars that you like, and we can tell you what needs to be done (and spent ) to achieve that look.

And to answer your question, no, all 20" wheels are not created equal. I think popular culture dictates that as long as you have "20s" or "Dubs" or "Twankys" et al, then you are big time. In all actuality thats like assuming that since your suit is black, its just as good as a black Versace or Armani! LOL
