With wider rims (8.5/10), the tires will be more within the tolerance.

And yes, for the Salinas, my vote would be 245/275. If you are worried that it is not OEM, the GS340 Sport edition that is available in Europe comes with the Salinas and they run 245/275. This is a Lexus edition and not an "aftermarket" edition like L-Tuned/TRD.
Cool... Sounds like what I will go with!

On the subject of sizes in general for 245/40 and 275/35 in 18”, there are slight variations between brands. Here’s what I found off tirerack site for specs:
Bridgestone S03 25.6 for both front/rear
Dunlap sp9000 25.7 for both front/rear
Goodyear GS-D3 25.7 (F) and 25.5 (R)
Mich PS2 25.7 (F) and 25.6 (R)
Mich PS 25.8 (F) and 25.7 ( R)
Mich PS A/S 25.9 (F) and 25.8 ( R)
Yoko AVS Sport 25.7 (F) and 25.6 ( R)
Yoko AVS es100 25.6 (F) and 25.5 ( R)
Avon Tech 500 25.7 (F) and 25.5 ( R)
Kumho 712 25.7 (F) and 25.5 ( R)
Kumho ASX 25.7 (F) and 25.6 ( R)
Pirelli Pzero M+S 25.7 (F) and 25.6 ( R)

Of all the sizes, the Mich Pilot Sport All Season have the biggest variance from the others. In the winter, I run the Mich PS A/S in a 245/45/17 and because of the larger size 25.9 vs a typical 25.7, I do have a slight rub in the front fender well when turning my wheels all the way to the left. It’s not a big deal but I wonder why Mich tends to run larger than everyone else

I thought you said running 245 on the 8 inch would be bad day to day? Or is the worry just with the rears at 285?

There is a way to get the Salinas still from Europe?

So you think a daily driver would be OK with the 245/275 setup right?

I don't know about the rear, but I'm sure 245-40 is fine for an 8 inch wheel. That's what comes stock on the new GS430 with an 8 inch wheel

My only worry now is rubbing with the L-Tuned drop. Sounds like the sizes are fine for the wheels but you figure with the L-Tuned drop maybe the diameter is smaller for a reason on the factory Salina package...

I PM'ed Drew for his 2 cents... Think I will PM Flossn too...

I was more talking about the rear. Fronts should be fine. For the Salinas, 245/275 is safe. As for the Salinas in Europe, I doubt it. They are gone here and since the 3GS is out, they don't make 2GS430 sport any more.

Tires were ordered...

TireRack had the best price...

245/40-18 BFGoodrich G-Force Sports
275/35-18 BFGoodrich G-Force Sports

$640.00 shipped 2 day FedEx so I can get them on Sat. morning.

Will let everyone know if they are as quiet and sticky as reviews indicate.

On my setup, I have a 42 offset in front with 8.5" and a 37 offset in the rear on 9.5. I have the L-tune drop and no issues with rubbing.
