not really feasible- just roll them, you cant tell if its done properly (with fender roller and heat gun...) hell you can pick up an eastwood fender roller for $300- do your own, then rent it for $10-$20 per use and make a bit of the $$ back.

edit- and by the way, both of those sizes sound VERY conservative for the GS-

both are the same outboard, so you are asking the same question

you need to mod the fender a bit i say, just some slight rolling and you are good

i have 20x8.5 +32, imagine that

i have 20x9 on front with a 37 offset and did not have to mod at all,,,,,,,,,,,,if i were you i would definately get the 19x9 and get the bigger lip,,,,,,,,,as far as your question goes there is 25.4 mm in an inch so if the wheel is 1/2" wider that means it is 1/4" more on each side,,,,,,,,,,,,1/4" more sticking out is only 6.35mm,,,,,,,,,,,,so therefore if your 8.5" wide wheel is 6mm less agressive in essence by doing the 19x9 you are only going to be sitting out .35 mm more than the 8.5" wide wheel,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hope this makes sense, the way i worded it may or may not be understood, trust me though from a rim and tire seller, do the 19x9, you will be happy you did and the 19x9 is only gonna stick out .35 mm more than the 8.5,,,,,,you cant even hardly see .35 mm

As far as the choice between the two, I'd take the x9. With how far it sticks out, the two specs are basically the same. Why not just go for the wider which will probably give you a little more lip? IF thereare fender mods to be made, you'd have to do the same with either setup. The only concern with wider is inside clearance but with those specs, you should be fine.

I'm a bit confused on how I can run a 20x8.5 inch wheel up front with a +35 offset and clear the fender with no modding what so ever?

Your tires might have something to do with it as not all tires are shaped the same. On top of that, 8.5 +35 should be close. I know rominl is running 8.5 +32 and he only rolled a little just to be sure. I don't think it was necessary. The different rubbing comes from turning, sometimes backing up, dips, or going up steep driveways. The wheels may clear but in extreme circumstances, the wheel is not in the same plane as the fender and this is where lowering and the increased wheel diameters can become a problem.

From my understanding, GS's can run more aggressive offsets than SCs, and Im running a 9.5 with an offset under 35 in the rear with no rolling and some camber.

This is in the rear. The GS can definitely handle x9.5 +35 in the rear. All the "turning" problems have to do with the front.

Maybe I assumed too much, but when GTFM asked about those sizes and I know his car, I was pretty sure he was not asking for his rear.

Yeah, I think it will be close. Not many push the boundaries to the inside. I think Bob is running x9.5 +40 right now. x9 +41 is about 5mm less aggressive than Bob's setup on the outside so it pushes the inside edge right up to where Bob's inside edge is.

It will be close.
