Default Could/Would you go smaller?

Ok guys this may sound goofy, but I have an 06 GS430 and the standard setup is 18 x 8.0-in alloy wheels with 245/40ZR18 tires.

I would like to place aftermarket rims on it. My problem is I don't want to go any larger than 18's for several reasons, but there are a limited amount of wheels that I like that come that small.

I found a set that look perfect, however the largest width they come in 18" is 7.5. My goal is to make the rims look more aggressive than stock by coming out closer to the fenders.

With enough offset, would these work, or would decreasing the wheel width by the .5" not make any sense. If it's plausible, what approx offset would the rim need to be to make the look as aggressive as possible without any fender rolling.

thanks guys.

Well, if you want it to be closer to the fender, reducing the rim width will not help. I'd rather not go smaller. Aren't there 18x8.5 rims out there that are similar to the ones you want? Also remember, there is more space in the rear. A size that may be "flushed" in the front will not be in the rear. This is partly why many go with a staggered setup.

Cool

Why not be patient a while longer as I'm sure more choices will be available in the next 6 months or so. If you get something now, you might kick yourself down the road. Just my 2 cents.

there are tons of nice 18's that you can get in 8.0, 8.5, and 9.5 widths. How much are you willing to spend? What look are you going for (executive, sporty, etc).

It's going into Aug now, if you have a winter season then wait until spring.
