Cool

No experence with the Avons, but the reviews on tirerack are very decent.

The Falken 512's are a fantastic tire which I do have personaly experence. With proper rotations & maintenance, they should last as long as your Bridgestones.......if that's what your liking, go for it.

Did the guy at Sears say how long the Sumitomo's will last mileage wise & what kind of warranty does Sears offer? I ask because I work for Sears Canada & we recently shut down many (if not all) Sears Auto Centers in Canada.

Default Tires

As long as what I put on the car is equal to or better than the Bridgestone Potenza RE030s in every regard. The Bridgestone do everything, well and I'd buy another set if they didn't tramline and weren't so expensive.

In truth, I am having a hard time beliving that a cheaper (Avon Tech M500) and a all season (Falken Ziex ZE512 and Avon Tech M550) can outperform a much more expensive ultra high performance tire such as the Bridgestones, but respondants claim that the Falkens do.

So, I guess I'll get them. I am also leaning towarrds replacing one of my rims during the new tire process

Thanks..

Neil

How about these Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S? Very well received by fellow CL members. Price is right here and is a top tire. Considering the cost per mile driven, it's very good.

Default Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S

Initially, that was the tire I was going to buy but after reading the reviews on TireRack.com, I started looking at other options. Too many complaints about tramlining and wearing fast. Most reviewers were lucky if they got 20K on them. If I am to get little mileage out of them and not exceptional handling with a probablility of tramlining, I might as well by the Avon Tech M500, which should out handle the PZero Neros and might outlast them.

I will say that I saw more than a few GS' at the Maryland Lexusfest wearing them and the owners I did speak to were happy with them but tramlining scares the hell out of me. I will search for review on this site for them and consider.

By the way, Sears wanted $371.00 per P Zero Nero. Thats right, $371 per tire.

Again, I will not drive the GS in snow so an All Season tire is not mandatory.

Thanks..

Neil

It's a tough choice with all these tires.
Since you don' t have to drive in snow...no need for an A/S. That was why I chose an Ultra Hi-Po summer tire.

In addition to the Falkens already mentioned, & based on what your looking for in a tire, I would also recommend you have a look at the following:

- Toyo Proxes 4

- Pirelli P-Zero Nero (available in V or W speed ratings)

- Yokohama Avid H4S

- Avon Tech M550 A/S (this looks like very good value & good ratings on tirerack)

These are probably the best available in an all season application that won't break the bank if you will. Good Luck & I hope this helps!
From what NTB has told me, the Yokohama AS430 is made specifically for NTB and is the exact same tire as the Avid H4S. I bought the AS430's a few days ago and so far they are great. I ended up getting 245/50/16's for my stock tires (took off my 18's for now) and they seem great so far...they hold the road much better than the stock tires.
