Question Widest tire on stock 17" wheel?

I currently have 245-45-17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on Lexus 17" wheels

Can I go to 255 for width on the 17" wheels? I'm thinking of changing to Michelin PS2

I just want to do it in the rear and keep the 245 in front

Thanks
Ivan

I think the stock 17"s are 7.5 or 8" width, can't remember.
If you go to Michelin's website, you'll find a PDF for the PS2 tire. It has all available tire sizes and the recommended rim width limits, min and max, as recommended by Michelin. Check it out.
