losing 5psi/mo air pressure on 20's... is this normal?
as per the recommendations of others here, i'm running almost 40psi on 30-series 20" tires. i'm notorious for not checking tire pressures but after seeing how much these tires cost i checked after about a month of city driving... and all 4 had dropped more than 5psi!
is this normal? granted summer just ended and it's been getting colder... but this much? the lowest profiles i've ever been on were 45's and i never lost more than 2-3psi between 5 month service intervals.

ummm.... i don't know, 5psi that's a lot.... way too much imho...
i have had the 20s on my sc430 since end of july, so it's been 2 1/2 months. i check pressure every 2 weeks, and up till this point it still says 40psi, same as what i had 2 1/2 months ago.
the hre 20s i previously had on my gs400, i had them since nov 2002 and i took them off aug 2005, so that's almost 3 yrs right? if i recall correctly, i added maybe 3 times air? so that's once per yr, and i always run 40psi
the new 20s i have on my gs400, i have had them since mid aug 2005, up till today it still says 40psi no problem.
that's just my cases, i am not sure so i don't wanna draw conclusions, but i just feel that 5psi loss in month that's a lot.
oh and btw, did you measure psi when it's cold, meaning first thing in the morning before you even start your car? that's a MUST, no exceptions.
and of course, cali doesn't get super cold so i don't know if it's snowing outside whether pressure will drop (which i am not surprised)

oh and i forgot to add. july 2005 one day i suddenly noticed that one rear hre wheel on my gs400 looked a little flatter than i expected. i measured it and it said 35psi whereas all others said 40psi. brought it to a shop and found a nail inside. took it out, patched it, and it stayed 40psi until i took the wheel off my car one month after
