19" Tire Size

19" Tire Size
What is the biggest tire that can be put on 19X8.5 w/ 37 offset and 19X10 w/45 offset. This would be for a 430 with L-tuned drop and I don't want to modify the fenders. I would like to try and fill the wheel wells.

245 and 275 are the typical choice, i would recommend those
245/35 and 275/30 if you want to be within spec
245/40 and 275/35 if you want to have fat tire setup for better comfort but out of spec

I imagine that the fat tire set up being out of spec is pretty minimal. Would it help fill the wheel wells? Will it rub? Could I go a little bit wider at all? I kind of prefer the tires being a bit wider than the rims. I really hate the stretched tire look. I don't know that much about tires but could I go with something like 255/35 front and 285/30. That may be a silly question but hey I won't know if I don't ask I see some peoples set up and they look great because they either flush up or go slightly past the edge of the rims. Maybe it's the brand of tire they are using Thanks for the help.

I don't like that stretched look either. 245 on 8.5" wheel and 275 on 9.5" wheel will make for a pretty straight sidewall with most every make of tire (IMO, 285 is too wide for a 9.5" wheel). The 245 will be slightly more 'stretched' looking on an 8.5" wheel than will the 275 on a 9.5", but not bad by any means). Those are the tire and wheel sizes I have on my car.

it depends on what brand and model.... for example, i have 255 and 285 on 9 and 10.5 on my sc430. they both look scretched.
but on my gs400, i have 245 and 285 on 8.5 and 10.5, you can't see stretching on the rear tire
so did the 275 on my previous 10" wheel in the back, no stretching.
get meaty tires and 245/285 fits fine on the wheels. if you get meaty 255 and 285 and put them on 9 and 10, it will actually kinda "bold" out a bit
with fat setup, you will rub the top of the front wheel well on big dips

If your question had to do with 285-mm tires fitting 10" wheels, then the answer is that high performance tires such as Pilot Sports, Potenza S-03s and such will not look stretched at all in those measurements. In fact, 285 is about the widest tire that should be on a 10" wheel, from a performance standpoint.

I had the fat tire setup for over a year. I was droppped 1.9/1.7 and I didn't rub. You should have no problem on Ltuned drop. Check out this thread for pics and specs of my wheels. VERY close to what you want.

If you go with the 1" taller-than-stocksetup you'll have to rework the plastic ground effect thingy at the lower front of the rear wheel well opening. It's not a big deal to do, but you'll have to remove the screws, bend the mount in a little bit, and then reattach the plastic piece using a different type of bolt in place of the upper screw (it'll be obvious what you need to do once you get started). If you don't, the outer shoulder of the tire will rub on the head of the screw when the car goes over dips and the suspension compresses.

when i had my old hre 10" back with 275/30/20, it was 1" out of spec overall diameter, but i didn't have to do any mods to my rear fenders at all
but now with my 10.5" with super aggressive offset and 285/30/20, i do have to shave the whole fender and more to get it fit well

Perhaps the Dunlops are taller than they calculate to be. They rub on the TREAD area, so offset doesn't really figure into it, unless you had an offset that positioned the tire about 1" further inboard, and that would look pretty bad.
