Question Test Fitted: 2006 GS & IS Wheels on my 2001 IS300 - Pics inside

Well after thinking about it for some time I finally picked up a set of the New 2006 Lexus GS & IS - 18" Optional Wheels from Sewell Lexus..

For Now I only ordered ONE each for Test Fitment and pictures..

I really love both designs, but I still can't decide..!!! :jawDrop:

The Lexus G-Spider Wheels are 18x8 with a 45mm offset..
They have a "Graphite Polsihed" finish, which was the same finish offered as an option on most IS300's with the 5 star wheels.

These wheels are currently offered as an option on all 2006 GS's and all 2006 IS's..(Non AWD).
For the 06' IS they offer 18x8 in the Front & 18x8.5 for the Rears with wider tires.. Not sure what they do with the GS, but the one or two that I have seen had the same tire size in front and rear. So the rims were most likey all the same size as well..

The Lexus Machine Finish Tourmalines are 18x8 with a 45mm offset as well..
These have a "Machined Finish" face which has been cleared, and the inner portions of the spokes are painted a darkish silver color. Also, the 5 small dimpels around the lug holes are painted in same color.

These wheels are currently offered as an option on all 2006 GS's..
I have NOT seen them in any of the 2006 IS Options list, but I am certain they will work... However, you will NOT have an 18x8.5 rear wheel option.. Only 18x8 for front & rear.. I am certain the fit is the same as G-Spiders.. You can still run the wider tire in the rear to fill in the wheel gap.

Question continuing thread.. wouldn't allow all the pics in one post...

18x8 Lexus Machined Finish Tourmaline Wheel for 2006 GS mounted on my 2001 IS300

My 1st attempts of Photo Choping them onto my car!!!!

I like the G-Spider because of the awesome finish and the look, but it has a very FLAT look...

I also like the Tourmalines because of the curved spoke design and the Machined finish...

I would also like to mention that there is plenty room for a big brake kit with these wheels.. These rims clear the caliper by at least a few inches..!!!

I can't make up my mind!!!

Which design do you like and why????

Enjoy the pics - one or two aren't too clear. Damn day light savings!!

Thanks

BTW - both wheels weigh 25 lbs each...

The G-Spider is stamped Toyota & Enkei on the inner face..

The Tourmaline is stamped Toyota & a Japanese symbol on the inner face..

I stared an hour at these rims last night and i still can't decide...

I like the G Spyders too.

So, the "graphite finish" is darker than a typical pollished alloy wheel?

Sorry, but I like the tourmalines. I find the spyders look a little dull espesially with charcolol grey on the car. I also think the spoke look is really hot right now, with alot of car companies coming out with them. However I am biased because I just bought a set of Amistad Type R.

I think you can't go wrong with either one. Its personal preference.

I like the Tourmaline. It is not as 'busy' looking as the Spider on your IS.
