Default tire performance 225 vs 235

I'll make this quick... I just got 19x8.5 TSW Kyalami hyperblacks .

What would be the pros and cons of putting 235/35/19's vs 225/35/19's?

Performance: Would I notice any difference at all? Obviously the type of tire is the clincher...
Appearance: Would 225's be straight sidewall or "pulled in"?

For 8.5s, I would say get 235s.

Your not going to see that much of a difference between performance/selection and price. Don't know if you have 17's or 18's when you bought it....but maybe get the size that will be the closest to the original diameter of the stock set-up.

On my RX300 I went from 225 to 235 (granted a 70-16) but there was a noticeable difference on turns and how it just sits on the road.

The 235's will grip roughly .44% more than the 225. Things like tire compound, speed rating, sidewall thickness, actual tread lay (the amount of tread that is actually on the ground) will matter much more than the 10mm differnce.

Personally I'ld go w/the 235's.. and no more.

Shouldn't you be asking the difference between a 245/35/19 and 235/35/19? I would imagine the 225/35/19 would be a bit streched? Here are a couple of pics of my 8.5" X 19" front wheels with 245/35/19 Toyo T1R's.

correct, 225/35/19 tires are usually made for 8" wide rims. Either go with 245 or 235 trying to stay within specs of your original tire diameter. I would think 245/35 would look good on the newer IS, it has a pretty big wheel well when you see them on stock wheels
