Default Continenal ContiExtremeContact vs. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

I've read/heard from quite a few IS350 owners that these two tires are the best ultra performance all-season tires you can get for the IS (I think it's because they're the only two staggered tires available on TireRack.com ).

Anyways, what are everyone's thoughts on both? It doesn't snow that much in Denver, so snow traction won't make or break my decision. I'm mainly looking for an all-season tire that has low road noise, wears decent for a performance tire, and also has a proper sidewall for the turns and handling.

BTW, I have 18" ISP wheels

I've got the Conti's on mine and I've been happy with them. Snow traction is not great, but I don't know if that would be any better with the Pilots

shaolin and foxberry: how's the handling and road noise for your respective tires? I'm more considered about that than the snow traction....

They are very quiet. I've used the Michelin daily and track. One of the best tire to use. I think they are better thank the S03 too. I had that as well.

The Porsche Carrera GT come with that tires etc.....

I have the Conti's on my IS350 and I like them. Car rides nice and smooth, don't really hear any road noise but I came from an 04 Acura TL, that thing was a rattlebox. Overall I like these tires though, road noise was one of my biggest concerns as well but these tires have not dissapointed me at all. I would definitely recommend them.

I have the Conti's as well. Wet traction is much better, ride is quieter. Probably give up a little dry grip but nothing I will notice on the street. Tire Rack has a smoking price. I have an America's tire near work and they priced matched Tire Rack.

R&T did a test years ago on the Michelins and loved them.

From people I know that have both of their cars.

Michelin gets points for being quiter and more grip on dry pavement.

Contis get points for wet and snow conditions but are a little noisier.

Noise is subjective and is measured differently be each of us. If I had to choose I'd take the Conti's for the extra traction in winter. If that is not important and money is not a factor then the Michelins would be the way to go.

Hopefully others will step up to create the size we need. Anyone from Toyo listening?

Not on all OEM. I think depends on how the manufacture wants to spend that year.....
