Difference in the iforged retro 2piece and 3 piece ????
Hi all, I had gotten a quote on the iforged retro 3piece, and was offerred the alternative to get the iforged retro in 2piece. I never even knew the 2piece design existed. Does anyone know the cosmetic differences between the 2?? The iforge website does not show a pic of both the 2pc and 3 pc.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

.. the difference is that a 3 piece wheels is just that, 3 pieces. the outer hoop, inner hoop, and the face. a 2 piece wheel is a single pice hoop that is either welded or bolted to the face. a 3 piece wheel is more of a custom wheel, which can be taken apart and repaired, where as a 2 piece, if it is welded, cannot. i hope this helps.

The biggest difference is this your max size is 20x10 on 2pc and you can go bigger on 3pc. However dealers have told me to just get the 2pc. Its not really worth it for the 3pc. and also I have heard stories of water leaking in on the 3pc.
Also dont get the retro's I am getting them

Everyone is pretty much spot on the with 2pc vs 3pc. I will add a few more things
REPAIR - if you damage a component they CAN be repaired, you can simply send them back to the manufacturer (iFORGED, etc) and have it replaced. In many cases when a client curbs a wheel, we simply refer them to a local repair facility which is much more cost effective for any wheel type (1pc, 2pc, 3pc, 6pc with a biscuit )
SIZING: Thats pretty much the only difference, 2pc simply has more limited widths 19x8 / 19x10 , 20x8.5 / 20x10. The thing is on most fitments the lip sizes are exactly the same or slightly larger with 2pc. For instance a 20x10.5 3pc on a GS will NOT have a larger lip than a 20x10 2pc on a GS. Depending on the spec the 2pc lip may be fractionally larger.
If I could give any endorsement to either construction, both sets of iFORGED wheels that I personally put on my own car where 2pc. They are SUPER strong in 2pc (slightly more rigid than 3pc)
Hope this helps. Of course if you have more questions you can send a email
