I searched the forums for 20 minutes and couldn't find one bit of info on this.

I'm curious, how much for a set of 4 tires (fairly new, with good tread) would cost you. What about nice tires (comfy quiet summer tires). How do they go about estimating prices? 215/55/16 or 205/55/15 (Midwest)

Also, are rims at junk yards cheap(er)?

Not that i would ever purchase a set of tires from a junk yard for my LEX

some places might just charge sort of a "flat rate" for a given diameter.
like $30 per tire for 15s, $40 per tire for 16s, on up.

it all depends on whether the junkyard really knows what they have or not, and whether or not they're willing to negotiate a price.
