Rubbing issue with new rims
i just bought rims from my friend. they are the adr stagered rims.
well the front is 245/35/18 and the rear is 275/40/18. now here is the problem. any time i go over a bump or if the car rises and then falls back down i hear a weird sound as if something is rubbing against something. i read before that 275/40/18 would work fine with our cars!! what can be the cause and how do i fix them.!!!! ill be posting pic later. please help and thanks alot!!!

wait, hold on.... i HOPE you meant to say 245/40/18 and 275/35/18?! if you really have 245/35/18 and 275/40/18, that's very off.
if do have the size i specified, the sizes are right. makes me wonder where are you rubbing. you need to figure that out in order to solve the problem, or if you have the widths and offsets then i can tell you

you already have a thread in the tire forum, please dont' spam.
anyway, he had them on the z?! and you put them on the gs? you gotta be kidding me.... no wonder why it rubs....... that's completely wrong offsets man (given that if he got the right wheels for his z)...... those wheels aren't for the gs.... they are only good for the sc430....
sorry to say, but you got yourself a big problem

well the fronts are 245/40/18 and they dont rub. i can see on the back tire that its rubbing and a little of the tire is coming off the sidewall. should i just get 275/35/18 for the rear? maybe that can help. the offset should be fine since this rim can work with the gs300-400 and the nissan 350z and some other rear wheel drive cars.

I'd start by removing the black plastic trim from the rear fender arch. This is easily done by removing four phillips screws. Thsi should gain an additional 1/8" clearance- it may be all that's needed.
275/40-18 is definitely taller than stock. Personally, I'd go 275/35-18.
To clarify, it's the tires that are rubbing (not the wheels), correct?

thank got the offset on the wheels are totally wrong for the z, you are in luck
the front is fine. the rear you can shave off the fender tab (if you wanna keep it) for about 3 to 5mm and you should be good to go. if you want, take off the tab like bob said, and then shave off the metal, that will gain you even more access
