SSR GT3 Owners
I'm finally going to upgrade my 18" Moda R6 wheels to SSR GT3 19"'s. I have had serious balancing issues with my Modas and would like to get input from current and previous owners of SSR's to get info on their experience with these wheels. Are these SSR's quality rims which I can rely on for a long time or do they have a tendendcy to bend easily? Also, has anyone experience balancing issues with them? I have had really bad steering wheel vibration at 55-60 mph and after replacing several Modas and Hunter balancing about 10 times, I'm just about fed up. I noticed Tire Rack has the SSR's for about $600/rim, so this will be a much higher investment than my previous set of Modas. I reviewed photos from another member on CL who had 19X8.5 (front) and 19X9.5 (rear) on his GS400. However, I didnt see Tire Rack having the 9.5's available. What is the recommend fitment for my 1999 GS400?
Along with the wheel upgrade to 19's, comes the very important step of the suspension upgrade. I have had the soft stock setup on my GS since purchasing it and although there is some wheel gap showing with my 18" Modas, the upgrade to the 19" SSR GT3's wil make the car look like a jacked up 4X4. I have read many reviews on this forum regarding different suspension setups and my main concern is a lowered effect which is adjustable and a ride quality just a little stiffer than stock. I have read about the Tein CS coilovers and would like input from any owners who can provide feedback on the overall ride quality and thoughts on this setup. I have also reviewed some info on the l-tuned setup (I think discontinued now), eibach setup and the H&R setup as well. Any feedback on these would be great also.
Thanks!
