Default 19s on 40 series... and rubbing and other sounds *sigh*

with 19s on 245/40, i really didn't expect any rubbing but... it definately hear stuff when i'm turning... and its REALLLY REALLY BAD when i'm reversing and turning too...

the place of contact is definately the front of the wheel well (of the front wheels obviously) where there's like the vent cover thing... and perhaps some in the back of the wheel well... when the steering wheel is turned 1 whole turn or more to the left or right

Also, at high speeds like 35+ mph.... when i take turn on the highway or at corners and there's slight body roll, i hear this knocking and/or repeatitive knocking sound. it might be the same problem stated above... the rubbing while turning but... i'm not even turning half way on the steering wheel so i think its something else... any ideas?

again, 19s with 245/40... strut bar in the front (dunno if that matters), stock height & suspension. but i do wanna lower it an inch later... think that will make that rattling sound worse. note that the rattling is dependent on the speed that i'm going, so its definately from the rotation of the tire or wheel or something around there.

can't be ball bearings can it? i dunno, what do i know... i'm not a mechanic, just another lexus enthusiast! thanks for ur help guys!

well you are running basically 20s with normal tire setup, which is proven to have the kind of rubbing issues on the front and rear of wheel well when turning. that's normal, and i don't really worry much about it at all. i dont' think it's going to hurt anything.

about the one you have at 35mph, i am not sure. unless you check it out and confirm on the source it's hard to say. me myself i don't have problem on rubbing at those speed. only when i hit bad dip and i rub the top of the wheel well

for the rubbing, should i like... bang in those areas a little?

as for offset, my mechanic forgot to measure it heh. i'm going to stop by later today to ask what's up

but again, that turning at high speeds with some body roll/G's... makes that weird *** sound, knocking/rattling. bewilderedddd

sounds like all is great!

however, when we were changing the rims etc... i saw this NASTY curb rash on my rims (only 6 days old). and i have a huge feeling it was my mom that did it cuz she drove it over the weekend *sigh* i can't exactly ask my mom for damage money haha

murply law man, sorry to hear that. you have guts letting your mum drove your car cars like ours, people need special training driving them.
