Default Hub centric wheels!

I ran across this term when browsing through other sites, and I am wondering if anyone knows what that implies? Can a wheel be non-hubcentric also??

I recall seeing the term a hub centric ring, is that something you add onto to the wheel? what is its functionality, and is it recommended?

Hub Centric rings are added on to the wheel so that the wheels are are concentric with the wheel bearings...this gives you a "truer" balanced wheel. If you DON'T have it (especially with the new suspension systems) it could cause shaking...

And yes, there are non-centric wheels...

How do you tell if a wheel is centric or not?? by manufacturer, model...etc?

I am looking into the Weds Kranze cerebus 3piece, are these centric?

thanks manaray,

All the concentric wheels I've seen have a shallow "coned" ring on the inside center of the wheel...so when you put it on the car, the coned ring aligns the wheels...and the bolts just hold it in place...as opposed to the bolts centering and holding the wheel...

The Kranzes should come with hub centric rings...wheels like HRE's are built hub centric
