Do 20's make the car a little slower?

Iam not sure why but iam still getting pretty good gas milage with 20's. I do alot of freeway driving but i average 350 to 370 miles to the full tank. the only recent upgrades i have done was HKS exhaust and K&N intake.

For the most part, 20s (as setup by the majority here) will slow down the car a bit. Factors such as weight, diameter, width all come into play depending on how far from OEM spec the wheel has become. You can always get a bit back with a high stall TC.

Thanks so much for the help I thought it was me and I didn't even think about the gas mpg. I know you have to pay to play, so I think I'll get a different exhaust and intake hopefully that will make up the difference!!

I drove around for several years on super light weight 18" Volks but came to realize it was worth the slight performance sacrifice for the much improved looks. As others mentioned, a higher stall torque converter and a 3.76 will bring your smiles back. As for mpg - with all the stop and go driving I average about 15.5 and that's without any snails.

no, they are heaviER than your old volks 18s, but that's coz' your volks were super light weight to begin with. at 16/17lb, you can't really beat that. but the hre 20s at around 25/26lb? that's very light for the wheel. my 20s now weigh quite a bit more than that, and i have seen some 19s that weigh over 30lb just for the wheel
cleorn, a tq converter new is about 700 bucks, but keep in mind the install will also run you around 600 bucks, and you also want to get a tranny cooler
