Nitto = (imho)

Even though Toyo and Nitto are produced in the same factory, I've been told that they split the batches through quality control in the initial stages of manufacturing. Better hald goes to Toyo and other to Nitto. Don't know if it's true, but heard it from many already. From my contact at Nitto, I've been told that the Nitto's are made in 3 places... (USA, Japan, and China). It all depends on which particular tire model....

i have them, my dad has them, zach (4Grainr) has them. i personally think they ride fine. they last a long time and although they may be a little noisy, that's fine for me. i'm running a staggered setup too so I expected more road noise.

I was originally going to buy Michelin PS2s but my tire guy talked me out of them. He carries PS2s but talked me into the cheaper T1Rs telling me that I'd be much happier with them. Haven't looked back since.

Also, Falkens are made by Sumitomo Rubber which also makes Dunlop.
you should try some nicer tires back to back with the T1's...

I have driven numerous cars with those tires and honestly, they suck... they feel very greasy at all times, they are not predictable at all, and simply they just plain do not hook...

I did back to back to back comparison with those, gs-d3's and kdw's on a friends 03 cobra... t1's were horrible in comparison...

This is a great thread, I currently have the Toyo T1S and they are really noisy and hear a waaa...waaa noise when braking. I am currently running 245-35-20 (Front) & 275-30-20 (Rear) and they have great grip, but noisy when braking. I am also looking to buy a new set, but I am finding that some places are a little bias when it comes to the tires that they are selling.

I may try the new Falkin FK-452, but I am still debating on which to buy.....any recommendations that are solid? Also, I drive my car daily and put about 40 to 50 miles a day on it, plus my Air Runners will be on in a couple of weeks, and I will be driving it like a 4x4 to help with the camber issues as well as wear issues.

Thanks for the great info.

Cheers,

just depends on how much money you want / can spend...

my absolute favorite road tire in the lower profiles is the BFGoodrich KDW new tread... awesome handling wet / dry and they last a long time... no issues with quality or uneven wear like I've seen with other comparable tires...

another good one, but doesn't last quite as long is the Goodyear Eagle GS-D3... great in the wet, good in the dry, shorter lifespan...

I'm really curious about the new Nitto Invo. It has a really funky tread pattern. I would buy it if it has decent specs. Hope someone gets it and let's us know how it rides.

I had the 555's for awhile and really did not have ay issues with them. I only had them for about 5k miles so maybe it did not get to the point of having noise issues. They wear (or did not wear ) pretty well. I had no uneven wear.

I have th 555 on mine with a staggerd 20" setup. They came with the car and I love them. Had to replace the front two because one had cracked on the sidewall. the rim had a slow leak and it was like that when I bought the car. I have had no problems, since and am pleased with the traction. Hell, I was doing 80mph on the freeway one day in a major rainstorm and didnt see the road was a lake. the car behind me spun off the road but I went right through like nothing. shure made a splash though. They are a bit noisey, but then again there very little cussion and I run 40-45 lbs pressure, so you feel the cracks. My winter wheels have dunlap and It sounds like a 4x4 going down the road. I thought it was a bad wheel bearing or something, its awefull.

Wow. Glad to see you made it OK.

I've driven mine in really bad downpours too but without problems. LOL. It sounds like I am defending the 555s. There are tires I like better but at a higher cost. I just wanted to show that for every good story, there is probably a bad one out there. And vice versa.
