question about rim fitting
im ordering some asanti af128s for my gs350 and the guy said he called asanti and they told him there might be rub in the rear
i plan on getting 20x8.5 and 20x10
he was saying i should get 20x9.5 in the rear but i dont want that i want the bigger lip in the back
i read on some site that i should be good with that combo if my offsets are right
20x8.5 offset +38
20x10 offset +44
i dont remember the site but it had a bunch of rim sizes and what fits and what needs modification
are these going to fit ? need to let him know by tomorrow so he can order them and start building them
thanks

Depends on the tire you use. I haven't seen any 275/30-20s on that width & offset combination that had any issues- it's a pretty conservative set-up, to be honest.
Depending on the offset of their proposed 20x9.5 you might experience rubbing where with the 20x10 you would not. It has to do with how the tire fits on the rim; generally a 275/30-20 will fit a 20x10 differently than it does a 20x9.5 and this affects the shape of the sidewall.
Also, the 20x10 might not necessarily have more lip than a 20x9.5
For example, if we build a 20x10 +44 and a 20x9.5 +38, they have the same lip.
The 20x10 +44 is just 1/2" wider to the inside of the fender well.
Is this the first GS the Asanti guys have done? I'm susprsed they don't have a better idea about what fits this car...

ya im getting the 275/30/20s in the rear. oh i didnt know that about the lip with the difference size thanks for extra knowledge.
it shouldnt be the first gs , maybe the first 350 that the guy on the phone has heard of.
i guess i will tell them to build my 20x10s +44
