I like the big lip look, but there are some wheels that are just awesome in the full face. The cool thing about non lip wheels is they look bigger, since the eye is drawn more to the circumference rather than the depth of the wheel. For example the OEM BMW 21" wheel has no lip, but it looks like a 22".

It really depends on the wheel but I probably wouldn't do more than a 3" rear lip. I don't like the "book shelf" look, lol. You'll notice that BMW has moved away from lips in their new designs.

OMG, that is the hottest GT I have ever seen
I think large lips like that on high HP cars and exotics look great. I think large lips on common cars looks out of place and it most cases hurts the design theme.
Of course that is just me, but I am right 99% of the time
