well when i first got my car, i told myself that i wasn't gonna fix it up because i was sick of seeing all these stupid "riced out" hondas and *****. then i started seeing some clean looking cars like most of the ones on CL and considered making a few changes to my car as well. but when i seriously think about it, i'm not sure if i really want to sacrifice ride for looks... u know? i like the fact that my car is a smooth ride and when i go over bumps i hardly feel it. i hate having to go over speed bumps at less than 5 mph and worrying that if i hit the curb (haha which i don't normally do... ) my rims won't get all *****ed up... it's bad enough that i'll have to shell out $1000 20K miles but that isn't my main concern...

i mean, i want 20s but what about driving comfort and convenience? is it worth it?

retro,

if you meant tyres, kumhos are good for the price....or, for over $200(mid 2), i would recommend bridegstone s-03(s-02 is on sale at the rack), or toyo t-1s....

Joolee,

Unfortunately, kumho doesn't make 19's..to answer your question about ride and comfort, it's gonna suck when you go 19 or 20 imo...(I am assuming that you are gonna drop it also)..anyhow, whether you drop it or not, you will feel every single bumps on the road AND you will have to go around potholes since you can damage your rims pretty easily with 30series tires. I am not sure how bad the road condition is in so. cali, but up here in frisco bay is a nightmare!

for the most part, the roads are ok but there are the occasional speedbumps, dips and potholes... especially in riverside and on freeways on the way to school... blech.

I would aim at $250 price range. Are you sure brigestones don't go in 19's? That was my primary choice and GS4WILL has just confurmed it!

Actually kumho makes 2 19" tires...275/30/19 and 245/40/19. But that doesn't really work for us. But i totally recommend the bridgestone SO3's that's what i have and those are great up there with Toyo's and stuff.

As everyone else has said , the LD-1's are very nice looking wheels.

The main question is , will you be able to stand the harsh ride after going up to 19" wheels ?

Unless all of your roads has been repaved you will lose some of the lexus smooth ride. Not sure how rough its going to be though since i haven't gone bling bling yet . hehehehe

after hearing this much, I think you're best off with 18s.

Or 18s front 19s rear.

with 19s there's definitely gonna be a problem with high tire cost and sacrificed ride quality.

If you can afford it go 20s. But what I do is I have a set of 18 and 19s. So whenever I want to chill I just put the 18s on. Whenever I want to floss.. I throw the 19s on. Maybe thats an idea for you.
