Question Moving from 16" to 17" Wheels

This is my first post, but I have read all the recent wheel/tire posts, and I understand how to calculate the diameter of different setups. However, I am confused about one issue. The original setup is 225/55-16, and the stock setup if your GS4 came with 17" wheels is 235/45-17. However, if I am moving from 16" to 17" wheels, the closest match to my original setup is 245/45-17.

Setup Revs/Mile
225/55-16 783
235/45-17 796
245/45-17 783

So, why are the 235's recommended? Would the 245's work better or give me problems in the front? If I go with 235's, do I need to modify the Odo/Speedo? or is this mod even possible?

I assume Lexus went with 235's on the 17s for two reasons:

1) Not too wide (no chance of rubbing)

2) Lower profile than 245s would have been, for more 'sporty' ride.

DOH, a third reason...

3) Maybe they felt the 245s would look too tall on the 17s.

I had 235/40-18s on front but now have 245/40-18s... I think they look much better (fill out the wheel well more).

I still have the 265/35-18s on back and will swap them out with 275s soon to match the front size.
