So it is time for new tires, I currently have 285x30x19 in the rear on a 10" rim. In the front I have 245X35x19 on 8" rims up front.

I need to know what is the widest tire I can use on these rims.

According to tirerack I can put a 295 on the rear but that is it. I have been told that I could actually use a wider tire in the rear, can anyone confirm this ? If so what is the max width?

you can use a wider tire, but how wide do you really wanna go??? 305's would work ok, but IMO, when you get too wide of a tire, the tire hangs over the wheel so much it looks silly...

Well I need as much traction as I can get, the tires break loose to easily. Do you think 305's would fit? The guys that put the 285s on had a tough time squeezing those on.
