I can't believe this story, no f'n way BBS is closing shop??!!!
Is that what the article is stating for sure? I couldn't follow the translation to deduce that they were going out of business. Can someone confirm that BBS is ending wheel manufacturing? I Googled this topic and couldn't find any hits.

I just check the M5 board and someone there appears to have some insight:

I just spoke with the National Sales Manager for the US as he's a friend of mine and we're discussing splitting a race car.
BBS US is fine and financially in great shape. This wasn't the case when he came on board a few years ago.
BBS AG has in fact filed for bankruptcy protection or the German equivalent. His explanation was that BBS AG recently opened two new factories and put in place quite a bit of new technology capabilities and may have over extended themselves. Lastly, it was his opinion that BBS AG is still family owned and this bankruptcy process may in fact be quite good for the longevity of BBS AG.
So, no need to stockpile or worry as I believe the company is here to stay.

I blame knock off's and the population that supports them. BBS will still be producing wheels, but just as DaveGS4 brought up, will they uphold the quality they once were known for. They tried to blame the rising cost of aluminum, yet maybe they should have seen this financial forcast coming, and attempted to cut overhead, and streamline production...we'll never know.

Valid point, don't really know but I will post anything else I am told by BBS. I don't think the manufacturing process or quality will change nor will certain models be discontinued. I will call them and ask and see if they tell me anything.
