ok tiny, these are from the work catalog book for 18s and 19s low disk:

18x10 +42(70mm lip)

19x10 +45(70 mm)
19x9.5 +39(70mm)
19x9 +45(58mm)

i am 99% certain hiro gave correct fittment quote. though i do not have 20s chart, but if you were to use the 18s and 19s chart, you can very well conclude that 20x10, +45 will have (70mm lip) with low, or super low disk.

just for refreence, 19x9, +45(58mm) 19x10, +45(70mm)
19x9, +33(70mm) 19x10, +33(83mm)

if +33 works on the GS, then i will have HUGH lip...should i chose the 19 equips..

these are the lip chart for 18 and 19s, in any size disk

33mm, 45, 58, 70, 83, 95.....

Thanks Will, that is helpful. 95MM???? Jeeeez!!! Thats just short of four inches....SICK!!
I dont understand why Dave sold me the 20x9.5" +41 REAR (58mm=2") wheel...
He also said that there werent any other options. I have come to find out that there ARE options....
Well, at this point Im waiting for one more e-mail from Hiro. If the 20" Work Equip is available with a "Super low" disc (at least 70mm) I will reorder the 20" Equip. Again, I dont care about the front lip as long as it is high disc....
IF they ARENT available in SUPER low disc, I will get one of the following:
1-Work Equip 19" using one of the fitments that you described above. (19x10" +45=70mm would be perfect! Or, 19x10" +33=83mm IF it will NOT rub the fender edge)
2-RH C-5 19" (only if it is available with a SUPER low disc like the Equip)
3-Dronell Type-1 19"(They have either a 10" +47=65mm or a 10" +35=77mm)

What are the lowest and highest offsets that I can use without rubbing.....For example, with a 10" rear wheel:
Will +47(65mm) be too far into the shock??
Will +35 (77mm) be too far towards the street??

What can I SAFELY go with???

Hey Will, your not going to believe this...... I e-mailed Work of Japan and they referred me to HRS Enterprises in San Francisco.(only AUTHORIZED US Work distributor)
I spoke to them at length about the Equips and found out a few things. They had me double check the disc type on the wheels that I received. It turns out that I got the correct R-type(high disc) in the front, which I already knew. BUT, in the rear I got the A-type(std. disc) and that is why I only got the 2" lip, and I thought I had the O-type....(its stamped into the inner lip of the wheel, but I SWEAR I checked that 10 times already, thats how I knew I had the R-type in front)
Needless to say I cannot wait to re-order because there is an O-type(3inch) disc available for the 20x10"+42, and the 19x10"+45.
I knew there was because Ive seen them on the Work web-site a bunch of times, and, after talking to you, Hiro, and Wei, I knew there were larger than 2" lips available....
Also, every e-mail about specs that I have from Dave dating back to July-01' states that I had ordered the O-type disc, but then I received the A-type disc..(What a F'in IDIOT)
HRS Enterprise has never heard of GTAutosports and told me that a non-authorized Work distributor will be limited to "production" sizes, and will not be able to get me the exact offset and lip size that I may want......
According to HRS, I got one of the only 20" Equips in the US for a Japanese car. They have sold numerous sets to BMW owners though. The O-disc lip for the BMW 750 is a whopping 4 inches....... Anyway, I was glad that I discovered yet another GTAutosports F-up!!!! I cannot wait to get the wheels off my hands and out of my hair.
What wheels are you using currently? Are you considering any wheels other than the Equips?

HRS Enterprises contact info is 415-861-2181.
They are a distributor (wholesaler) so will most likely refer you to one of their retailers to make a purchase. They will however, answer your questions in detail. Keep in mind, they are the ONLY authorized US Work disrtibutor so they are the "voice" of Work in the US. It seemed to me that the person I spoke with wanted to make sure I got the correct info, so that I didnt get mis-informed elsewhere. To this point, I have found it pretty hard to get concrete info about any of the special order Japanese wheels through retailers. Most of the good info and specs Ive gotten are from the CL resident "wheel gurus".
I was told that due to my horrible past experience trying to get these wheels, I may be able to make the purchase directly through HRS, but the price will not be near as good as Hiro.....
If Im not mistaken, the wholesalers that Hiro uses are in Japan, not the US....If you go through HRS, you could get any necessary rim replacement parts or repair done here in the US...This means if you needed extra stems, a new lip, rivets, center caps, etc., you can either ship the wheel to California or have the parts sent to you. Anytime you are relying on shipment from Japan......well, pitch a tent.....J/K Tiny

Just talk to Tim from HRS, very nice, helpful guy, and friendly, sounded very knowledgeable. At least for me, an idiot when it comes to wheels, he was great.

thanks for the info, Tiny
