Gs400 245/45/18
I currenly drive a 1998 GS400 with stock susp.
I'm running a 18" x 7.5" wide rim and I currently have 235/40/18's on the rims now that need to be replaced.
Can I run 245/45/18's on my stock susp. GS400 without rubbing?
I like the "fat" look a lot.
I do realize that the car will be approx. 1/2" higher, but the way the tires fill the wheel wells is a even trade off for looks.
I do realize that I will get a softer ride with slightly poorer handling during "spirited" driving situations.
Would there be any other things I should be aware of when replacing 4 tires to 245/45/18?
Only 2 of the tires need to be replaced right now. So would I be ok to put 2 new 245/45/18's and leave the 2 good 235/40/18's on the front until they wear out?
I realize the outer diam. of the tires will be off by approx. 3/4". Would there be any problems with running this setup for a season?
I don't see it being much different than times that I have run stock 225/55/16 winters with 235/40/18's in late fall (without issues).

"why not go 245/40-18... 245/45-18 will make the car sit higher off the ground too..."
I stated in my original post that I was aware of tat and it was ok.
I do realize that the car will be approx. 1/2" higher, but the way the tires fill the wheel wells is a even trade off for looks.
To the best of my knowledge 245/40/18 doesn't fit on a 7.5" rim, if they would fit I would maybe consider ths option

it'll fit, it's not always what I consider good practice, but it's very very close to the recommended specs... I'd do it, and I work with this stuff every day...
