wheel hole pattern modification?? Obround mtg. holes..
A local wheel/tire company wants to modify Mercedes wheels to fit the Lexus hole pattern. The pattern is off by approx. 1mm. The holes would be obround (not round) and I am concerned about vibrations/problems.
Has anyone modified a wheel's hole pattern? Did you have success or problems? Any recommendations? Someone has told me there are fitments that can be added but, 1mm is pretty small for some kind of additional part.
I appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Mark (da-bizket)

mercedes are 5-112 (112mm bolt circle)
lexus are 5-114.3
I would never ever ever do that, unless said shop was going to weld in material, then redrill new holes... never ever ever ever use an oblong mounting hole unless you are using a Weld style wheel with mag shank lugnuts - this is the only application in which you can use an oblong hole because they use a washer to retain torque - they don't use the angled part of the lug seat...
