General wheel offset question.....HELP!

Default General wheel offset question.....HELP!
Question......say I have a 20x8.5 +42 wheel and I've added an 20mm spacer in between the hub and wheel. If if were to order another of the same mfg wheel, the same size with no spacer, would it mean that I would need a 20x8.5 +22??? or is there more to it?
