What can give me the best wear for my money? I had Michelin PS2 and they didn't last very long...lol, So what do you recommend?

i had pirelli pneros....loved it and lasted long...

my perilli p-zero asm last me over 40,000 miles and so far my dunlop sp9000 is still holding up 15k+

I thought Perilli's didn't last that long because they were a softer tire? Is this true? thanks... Also may wnat to try some Toyo's..

Well, first off 275 tire isnt what you should be looking at if you want a longer lasting tire. Look for a higher tread wear rating when purchasing a tire. Just remember the higher you go the less sticky the tire.

Are you just replacing two rear tires?

If so, I'd recommend using the same brand & model of tire that you have
on the front of the car. Typically, mixing and matching tire brands on
different axles is not something I would do or recommend. Most tire
manufacturers (for obvious reasons) would tell you the same thing.

lol...well my fronts are wearing fine, in fact they look great and they are 245/40/19 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, one rear is showing cord and the other looks like a drag slick. I just couldn't imagine the same type tire just different widths with such drastic wear patterns. My car is a 300 so i'm not running around doing burnouts lol.

275 is what i'm going to put on a 10" wide rim. Not sure what that statement meant.

I'm looking for the same size but in a 18. my fronts are 245/40 too and a friend gave me two new new goodyear nct5 which is a runflat. i was thinking of replacing the rears with the same tire but that is the most expensive tire through tirerack.

let me know which direction you are going because i'm in the same boat.

BTW, I grew up in okc.

Careful with runflats if you don't have tire pressure monitors - due to their ultra stiff sidewall, you can run on them almost entirely flat for long periods of time and not know it... this sounds great, but the bad thing is that, like any tire, extreme heat builds up in the sidewall, and if you don't know its running low on air, it can and will fail catastrophically, sometimes damaging the car, sometimes causing a loss of control...

What he was saying is that low profile performance tires are not known for their longevity... One should factor this in when purchasing aftermarket wheels...

My BFG's wear about 30-40% faster in the rear than the front... I have never done a burnout, but I drive aggressively around turns and such... If yours are wearing that much faster in the rear, I would suspect a somewhat shoddy alignment...

thanks mitsuguy. i really don't want the runflats, but since they were free and i didn't have another option that day, i had them mounted until i could find something i could research. i've also heard that if you get a nail in them it isn't easily repaired if at all. i feel kind of limited on my choices because of the rear size being a 275/35 so i was wondering what people had good experiences with. i'd love to run the goodyear GS-D3 all the way around but that's a super soft tire which won't last. i live in Phoenix so weather isn't usually an issue.
