Hey Guys,
I just purchased the G2 caliper paint kit from tirerack. Now I need to buy clear coat but I'm not to sure which one to buy. I just know it needs to be the high temp ones. Can anyone recommend any brand and tell me where to purchase it from.
Thanks

I will try that high temp paint from PepBoys! Meaning to do my calipers for a long time!

I am with Brandon, the G2 paint cures pretty glossy, I dont see a need to clear coat it. I have had mine on the back calipers for 3 years and no problems and they shine right up when I wash them

Thanks rominl and everyone else, you were a lot of help. I will test everything out before I try it on my calipers. I should be receiving the G2 from tirerack within a week or so. I will keep you guys posted and tell you if the two paints worked out okay.

Just to clue you in on something. Almost all solvent based paints do not have a reaction with one another when over coated with one another. Only water based paints (most) have a chemical reaction when topcoated with a solvent based paint. AKA acrylic enamel over latex.
Do a test just to be on the safe side though.
By the way, when you use the G2 caliper paint kit from TireRack, they tell you to pour the entire bottle of catalyst into the base paint in the pint can.
This is not necessary. You can split the 2 part paint in half and have more than enough paint to do 2,3, maybe even 4 sets of calipers. (split the cost with someone you know) If you have any knowledge of mixing, it equates to a measure of 1 part catalyst to 8 parts base paint or 1:8. (1 ounce catalyst into 8 ounces of paint). Once you mix the paint, you will only have about 3 hrs pot life/aka working time.
The paint is very strong and durable. A quality paint in my opinion. And if you have doubts, I have been a painter of various professions for over 17 yrs.
