Question Enkei Bortex RPM2

So I'm still window shopping and ran across these at the dealer of all places. They look pretty sharp and I'm pretty sure they are forged and therefore light but haven't seen them on a GS.

Anybody with comments about the general quality of the rims and perhaps a picture on a GS?

BTW: Ideally I would go with 10" on the back but I think they only go 9" wide. Since I had 17x9 wheels on my Firehawk and they accomadated 275s the same should hold here right?

TIA

Peter

Richie: They only go up to 18. That's the size I was looking for though.

That's a classic design, very nice, although I don't know how the quality is. If you have the luxury of seeing them at a dealer go pick up that bad boy (literally pick it up) and compare it to a stock or known cast wheel. That should be enough of an indication of whether it's forged or not. I was at the local wheel shop and there was a NOTICEABLE weight difference between a forged, 3 piece Dronell wheel and another ****ty wheel of the same size. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, maybe Globe or gs4will can give you some more information.

peter,

enkei is one of the reputable wheel co in japan, the quality is good. try to see if you can get 18x8.5+10(245+275), or 18x9+10(245+275; the front tyre would be stretched a bit)
if not, 18x8+9.

for that wheel on the GS, see if master globe can perform his majic...

275 on a 9" is OK...it'll just be bubbled a little bit (and depending on the tire, it should look fine...but then again, with a tire like the Toyo FZ4, I think it won't look good because that particular tire has very "round" sidewalls)

I'm pretty sure that Bortex is forged...it should weigh 18 to 20 pounds...
