Default Questions about 20's on 2ndGen GS

okay, well im in the market for some 20's and was wondering what i needed to do to get them to fit on a stock GS300

i looked in the wheelwell today, and noticed that there is a part extending above the tire that is connected to the suspension. im thinking if i put a 20 on there it will hit for sure, how can i get rid of it and have enough clearance to get 20's to fit in ,

ALSO, i wanted to do the TRD drop which is 30mm, 1.25 inches, will that be enough, but the catch is that i do use the 3 seatbelts in the back, so i do have 5 people in the car some times, when we go out, so will this be a problem

20's with a 30mm drop,

the rims are 20x8.5 et35 / 20x9.5 et45

those specs are quite conservative (except for that front) and everything will go without a hitch, heavy friends included. any wheel/tire combination is roughly the same size in diameter, so whatever it is that you described is up there won't get hit since its not hitting now, and never will get hit unless you bottom out in a freakish way.

to be on the safer side, get like a 39 front, or else some rubbin' will come your way

20's will fit on your car without any modifications also you can go with a 20x9 front and a 20x10 in the rear for a more agressive look

My 20's use to be 8.5 +35 and 9.5 +35 and I had problems hitting the rear bumper lip inside the wheel well on high speed dips and with the front fenders going up driveways with the wheels turn, but I had about a 3 inch drop.

I think this is caused by the wheels and tires being oversized from the factory specs. With wheels and tires staying within the right diameter size, tires won't rub since it will hit the strut bump stops before the tires rub anywhere. But with the total diameter oversized, theres nothing stopping it from rubbing.

I think with a 30mm drop, you should be fine. Just be careful on how you drive.
