Yup, will fit but the cross section or "bulge" will be wider than the stock 225-55-16. You possibly could feel more "roll" when doing tight curves and the ride could feel softer as you will have more sidewall flex.

I just put 245/50 series on my 400. The car handles very nicely and the MPH is accurate. (Longo Lexus, in El Monte CA, the jackasses I bought this car from sold it to me with 225/50 series which rolled a loy of non-real miles on the oddometer AND caused me to bottom out all over the place, needless to say my opinion of this Dealership is ******).
There are NO interference problems, and I will stick with this match. The max load is better than the stock 225/55 series as well. My 2 cents.

Sorry, but the Goodrich KWDS tires I had lasted less than 20k miles. Sure they look nice, and it is a WOW name. IMHO you are paying for the name, and after speaking with the salesman at TireRack, he indicated that many of THEIR employees have Kuhmo's on their cars. That should be a hint. Check the reviews on the Tire Rack site.

I had to change the two tires that worn out with the same brand. I will keep and eye on all four tires now. If it doesn't last long, I will replace it with different brand. Also, the reason I went for KDWS was because of how quiet the tire rating is.
How is the noise with your Kumo tires?

As quiet or quieter than the Goodrich's. I used Equal as a balance aid, and it is smooth as silk at 110 (as fast as I have pushed it now.) The tred design for the Extsta is pretty aggressive looking, but I can't hear a peep except from the drown of the mufflers. These are 245/50/60's on chromed GS rims (I didn't care for the "wagon wheel" look of the SC rim). NO "buldging" or interference problems like some of the threads have indicated (frankly, I don't know where they came up with that idea). The rim can handle these tires without a problem AND the load rating is higher, so that may icrease life as well.
I had my last alignment at Mission Viejo Lexus in S. CA. I don't trust tire shops to do alignments unless I know their work.
I am very pleased with them (although it has been only two weeks). I do drive 100 miles a day. For the $89.00 vs the $139.00 I paid for the Goodrich's, I believe I have done well!

On the Kumho tires, pay attention to the noise after you put 5-10k miles on them. The noise level increases gradually as they get older. If you don't care about noise, they are good deal.

Well, the revolutions of a 245/50/16 and a 225/55/16 works out to about the same using the tire calculations. It is the aspect ratio that is involved. Check out the specifications available on Tireracks WEB site to compare these numbers.
Like I said earlier, the dealer I bought the car from had 225/50/16's on it and that WAS a tighter aspect ratio (lower tire). I found that combination to handle far less effective than what I have now; 245/50/16. The interference issue was brought up earlier, sorry if you thought I meant you. As far as the noise after 5k to 10k miles, I guess I will have to wait and see. Sounds like you have owned this brand. . Again, I spoke to the salesperson at Tirerack regarding this brand. It would seem that if he wanted to make more $, he would have pushed another brand.

It's no problem at all. I just want to make it clear to everyone that 245 is not a problem at all. I used both 225x50 and 245x50 and agree that 245 is much better. However, after awhile, i realized that 245 didn't do any better than stock 225x55 if not worse except for the fatter look. And this is true that i kept checking my tires pressusre when i had 245 because i thought my tires were loosing air.
I don't know how long your car had the 225x50 on but it probably shows more mileage on the odometer than it actually has

I have the WONDERFULL folks at Longo Lexus of El Monte CA to thank for this. I woudn't buy a "muffler bearing" from these people after I was "cheated" out of God know how many miles for about a year and a half.
