Default Falken FK452's or Nitto NT555?

2007 GS350 RWD

20x8.5F and 20x9.5R

245/35F and 285/30R

Anyone have any past experience with these two tires? Can you point out any positives or negatives for each tire? And which one would you say has the higher treadlife. I don't really need some crazy tires, just need them to last for a daily driver! Haha, thanks for any input or tips

yea, i would do 275 just because its a MUCH easier size to find than 285/30/20.

I keep hearing nittos suck, go with falken. had some before, given they were on 15s/16s but they lasted and were good on traction.

if you search the net some more, im sure youll come up with many results of the fk452's bulging/air bubbles. it is a great tire, but in my eyes not realistic for DD. and i live in az, where the roads are butter here. these are fairly sensitive tires.

Fk452 FTW

You'll read a long thread but you have to take it with a grain of salt and consider what people were doing with the tires: Stretching them beyond factory specs. for 'looks'.

Ive read people buying used tires and stretching them...only to complain when they were ruined...and actually try to blame the manufacturer for doing sumthin they arent supposed to be doing....amazing.

Stretching is pay to play....dont do it if you cant pay for it when/if it goes bad.

The sizes youve mentioned are well within spec and should be trouble free...and plenty of meat considering they run a lil big

BTW, I stretch the hell outta mine and havent had a single problem on any of my cars

yeah, vip style you gotta pay to play. and thats exactly what ive been doing. lol. but when you compare other tires stretch. its not so realistic. i stretched on my current setup 215/35/19 onto a 9" width wheels and of the 2sets of gone through, probably 4 of them have bulged. while my 265/30/18 onto 11" width wheels never had a problem, and that was a ginourmous stretch with older model falkens, and not fk452.

edit: i just read the original posters info. and he will be fine.

The NT555 is really a POS tire. It gets SUPER loud as it wears off.

I also had nitto555 in the past. I have falken 452 on my car now. Overall I like the 452s more than 555s.
