Hey Andy,

You must must get the Michelins Pilot Sports A/S. I had a bad experience with the Bridgestone Potenza 960 RE back in this Jan and Feb 2008. I got these tires and they were horrible. They vibrated from 50-80 mph on highway through the steering wheel. They were road force balance 3-4 times by discount tire and my lexus dealership. They rode like rocks no matter what PSI i had in the tires. They slipped badly in the snow compared to my continentals I had on the 18 inch rims before that. I hate bridgestones and their quality is unquestionable. Michelins have the best ride and most uniform tire quality that will stay balance.

I am now shopping for new set of A/S tires, since I don't like the stock Yoko because of road noise and ride comfort.

From the sticky on the tire subforum, these two sets caught my eyes:
Bridgestone RE960 PP
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

Which one would you recommend?

Here is my expectations on the new tire:
less road noise than the stock Yoko
better ride comfort than the stock Yoko
decent performance in rain (doesn't rain often in California, but still good to have)

I am not racing with the car, so any extra performance is just a bonus to me,

Thanks in advance.

When given a choice between the Michelins or Bridgestones, I always get the Michelins. They are simply a better tire company. I use to hate Goodyear tires becuase they wear too fast and have weak sidewalls, but lately, I have nothing but good reviews on the new generation of Goodyear tires. My next set of tires will be Goodyear.

Prior to getting my GS-300 awd I had a Audi A8. I put the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S on the Audi and loved them! Quiet and excellent in Wisconsin snow!

Cool, I will take a close look at Goodyear and Michelins next time around. I already replaced the damaged one with another Yoko for now.

There is indeed another problem now (a bit offtopic, since it's not related to the tire). I started to notice a "geek" noise (near the central dashboard, I believe) whenever I drove over a relatively moderate bump. If I have my music on (with volume @25+, then the noise is pretty much masked. But when audio is low or off, the noise will get pretty annoying. Dunno what to do,

$131 is pretty cheap. The same sized Primacy HP's which come stock on the 2008 GS460 list for $352. Doesn't really make sense...

If your not pushing the car to hard I would go with whatever tire gives the most mileage warranty

I have these tires on our S430 benz. They are not as "soft" as the previous Continentals that were on them therefore the ride is a bit stiffer, however the traction is great. Additionally, I know these tires will last longer than the previous tires I had.

I wonder if anyone here has had experience with the BF Goodrich Super sport tires that one of the members mentioned earlier (on costco). Been looking at this tires as an option on my girl's Jetta. They seem to be cost effective and have pretty good ratings.

I just picked up my 2008 gs350. Amazing ride, and thanks to everyone here for all the help and knowledge.

I have one caomplaint thus far, the stock yokos, are they suppose to make that much noise????? As i drove it around yest, it irked me from the noise coming fromt he tires (i felt that it was the one driver side tire)

I drove a 2003 clk before purchasing the gs350, and that car had extremely quiet drive, just hoping that its the tires and not something else making this noise.
