Looking for some new tires and there is a deal on some Bridgestone
G009's right now. I really don't wont to affect handling negatively, But I honestly don't see myself doing 149 mph either. Does the H vary much from the OEM V Goodyears? Thanks

H-rated tires are good for up to 130mph. Now it doesn't mean that they'll explode once you hit 132mph. It just means that you can go up to 130mph for a certain time-frame without something going wrong. Usually the ratings are good for about 30min-1hour of run time depending on the road and how hot it is.

Higher rated tires usually have stiffer rubber compound to help resist tire expansion once you reach high speeds.

If you dont even come close to 130mph, then I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks for the reply. My biggest concern was just low speed (under 90mph) handling in general. I do want to keep the car as tight as possible since I do feel that it feels a little heavy to me anyway.

the drop in performance rating will cause the handling of the car to decrease as well... its more than the top speed of the tire...

the G009 is a great tire for its applicable fitments, however, it is being replaced by the G019, which is why they are giving you such a deal on it... its availability (in case a replacement is needed) in the future may be limited....

Does it sound like a better option to go with some Dunlop or Yokos V instead of the H Bridgestones, I only ask because I know that there can be great differences between tire manufacturers. Pricewise I am in the same boat.

You will be just fine with an H speed rated tire. I've heard pretty good things about the G009 too.

I'll be going with an H speed rated tire for my 2005 ES 330....the Goodyear Triple Tred.

depend on what car you install the tires on, it can be dangerous combo.
For SC factory spec is V rated. I had tireshop mistakenly replaced with new H rated tires and I almost got an accident in the highway from hydroplanning.

The car started to fishtailed, I had to counter balance. Highway was going up hill + the weight/mass of the car + wet condition + speed (normal 60-70mph), it did not take H rated tires to go Hydoplane

Everyone in the car was screaming (3 people on the car)

It will not need to go 130mph just the combo above can do that. My advice: get tires as factory rated or better.
