Default tire size for 20s, will this work for me...

i have never had 20s but have had these sitting in my house for a while. been contemplating based on what i heard whether or not to put them on. i decided to but am trying to get the most meat out of the tire choices.
the rims are 20X8.5 all round and most recomment 245/35/20.

i want to know if 255/35/20 (i saw a pics of a member with these but not sure if he did any fender mods)all round or maybe even 255/45/20 all round will be okay without any modifications. i most likely will be lowering with tein CS but don't want no fender mods or rolling or whatnot. if the above sizes dont work, can i do 255/40/20? or worst come to worst 245/40/20.
anything fatter than the infamous 245/35/20 without modifications will do.
thanks guys

Those sizes are way too big:

255/40 = 28" diameter
255/45 = 29" diameter
245/40 = 27.7" diameter

245/35 = 26.8" diameter

OEM is 25.3" (235/45/17).

In the worst case (255/45), you are travelling at almost 69mph when your speedometer shows 60mph. Of course, the odometer will be affected.

As for fitting, you will rub big time. Even at the 245/35, you will more than likely rub the top of the wheel well on dips. With the even taller wheels diameter, you increase the likelihood of rubbing. I think it will also not be pleasant visually.

My advice:

1. Go with 245/30 to be near OEM diameter.
2. Go with 245/35 like many here as a compromise.
3. Don't ride on 20s.

Default

is your car lowered ???? or just stock height

my friend had his gs on tanabe springs with 20inch wheels. he had 255/40/20 all around and he rubbed in the front. so he went with 225/35/20 in the front.
