Hmmm, good place for me to give a for black wheels also.
As a matter of fact, I HATE it no matter if it's the most expensive wheel out there.
Seems like I can get a $1 black spray paint and have the same effect-seriously

Although there were a few bmws/porsche that I saw had them and were pretty nice

I had black wheel with polished lip years ago on my burgundy maxima. Never doing that again.

Never warmed up to the black wheels either; I guess I've always loved chrome; the black just doesn't look clean to me. No matter how nice the wheel and the car, the black just looks kinda cheap and dirty to me. To each their own I guess.

I just don't understand paying $$$ for some really nice forged rims, and have them all black. You won't be able to see your rims, and neither will anybody else. What a waste of money IMHO.

The other trend nowadays is completely black wheels (face and lip).

Here's a g37 with Autocoutures that I did with that setup

Now I'm very glad I did because I don't care nearly as much for it now.
It's been around longer than that.
I had a set of black faced Enkei's back in 1990. Had machine polished lips. Looked really cool.
I agree that about 3 years ago, all of a sudden there was a big popularity boom with black wheels.
I'm also glad it's playing down so that only the guys who are matching a theme will get them instead of a bunch of fad followers.
I hate the all blacked out look wheels. Makes the car look too tuner. ALso looks like an empty space in the wheel well.
Black car on black wheel is hot imo....as long as the lips are shiny.

Sorry Reggie, you aren't the trend setter you think you are....
