Exclamation Is it just me or tire prices have skyrocketed the last few months...

I've been going back and forth on to buy next and in my hesitation tire prices are just reaching!!

We talked about Michelin raising prices but clearly everyone got the memo.

I blame ripple effect of fuel prices and economy. It costs more to ship in general so maybe the manufacturer's costs went up and those have been passed down to the consumers.

You mean you don't make your own tires to save money?

I blew close to $400 USD for two Michelin CrossTerrains when I got here a few months ago.

Tires and oil go hand in hand. Oil is a major ingredient of tires. Oil goes up so do tires. Someone told me they are going up 20% before they level off

I didn't get the specifics, but that is what a Goodyear rep told us a few years ago when we toured a plant and got to watch tires be made...

I haven't noticed a big increase really. If you guys have a specific example I can check the price history. Shipping has gone up a little maybe %10, but I was expecting a larger increase there as well.
