Default Avon Tires

I need new tires for my 1994 sc400 because my old ones have like zero traction when it rains.
But I'm broke right now so the only tires I can afford are avon tires.
But are these tires reliable?
Because I don't want to spend a $1000 on four new tires.

Avon has been a very strong competitor in the motorcycle tire market for years. I have no reason to believe that they are not a good car tire. I also cannot help but wonder if Michelin is a silent player in the Avon corporation. The tread pattern of the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S and the Avon Tech M550 A/S are virtually identical.

Default We still dont know what size/s you are needing --

How about Falken ? I have a set on a '97 540i and they are great. Stick good all the time rain or dry, and are quiet. I think they are relatively inexpensive too..
Good luck with your search ! DanF

I run them on my supercharged Audi and have gone through 2 sets approx 30,000 miles per set. I will buy a third set when I wear these out. I have been running the summer tire all year round. (all wheel drive)

I used Avon a long time ago on my Integra. My complaint is that it has really loud road noise, especially up at around 55+mph. The traction wasn't particularly impressive either. I was still in high school back then so I didn't have any money to blow on tires.

I personally won't get them again. But if you find a really good deal, what the hell... just go with it.

Falken > Avon imo.... I heard they are a really good bang for the buck.

i ran the mt550's for a while and they lasted a good 30k miles before they were toast. Good all season tires but bad on road noise and not great when there is more than and inch or two of snow.

I bought a set of closeout track tires when Tirerack was closing them out. Great bang for the buck.
