When I got my SC300 last August it came with aftermarket wheels that don't quite suit the personality of the car. I have a bit of extra cash from Christmas and I'm looking to purchase some Lexus OEM take-offs.

Some details: wheels are 17x7 by ICW (and after some research I discovered it's a subpar brand). All four wheels have curb rashes and rock chips from being driven in the city and highway for 10+ years. BUT, they come with Kumho Ecsta tires installed three months ago, and I've put less than 2,00 miles since then; they ran me $625. They are mounted and balanced.

I'm thinking of asking for $250, but I want your opinions too! I would like a quick sale but would definitely like to receive the most I can so I have a bigger budget for the coming set of wheels.

Well, couple things - first off, that's the wrong tire size for your car (or any of the Lexus except the IS300) But, that may be a good thing... It appears that that is a dual drill bolt pattern, which means it will fit cars with (most likely) 5-100 and 5-114.3 The 5-100 bolt pattern is a guess, it may also be 5-108, but 5-100 is more popular... It should be measured either way to be on the safe side. Either way, because you got the 225/45-17, they will also fit on a lot of different vehicles (its a more popular aftermarket size than 245/45-17 which is what you should have gotten) Anyways, you can also market those to pretty much any Toyota, 5 lug Honda, (if it's 5-100, then Chevy Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire), and lots of other cars as well... If it's 5-108, it limits some of your potential buyers (Some Saturns and all Saabs are 5-108)

they should sell quickly at $250... My feelings are you could probably get $350-$400 if you are a little more patient...

Thanks for the info. The old tires (the ones that came on the car) were 225/45-17, so I just replaced them with the same ones. There are two offsets available for the wheel, +40 and +48. I'm guessing is +40 because my speedometer reads different than the actual speed I'm going: when I'm going 30 it'll say I'm going 35, etc.

The reason your speedo is inaccurate is because of the tire size...
