As GS2006 already stated, this is not true...

in fact, your car should drift slightly left on a perfectly flat road, as the camber / caster and tires are all built to account for a slight crown in the road...

if your car tends to drift right on roads with a crown to them, there is a possibility that the alignment is not completely correct...

I wonder if this is a regional thing with the dealers??
The dealer by me doesn't offer any of those either. The only Michelin they carry is the MXM4. I found that weird because when I called Michelin they said that tire is not recommended for my vehicle because it requires 94W and the MXM4 is 94V. They told me to go with the A/S Plus over the Primacy.

Lexus said the reason they carry that tire is because it offers a softer wall that is meant for the car. The other two they offered me was the Yoko AS430 and Dunlop SP2050. They said the lower the tread the better the ride. Which I find is true.. but also means more tire replacements and more money in their pockets.

The cool thing is that the dealer will price match any one else's price but that means I have to get one of those tires which I did not want. That is why I started this thread to find the best tire and go to a local DT.

dealers buy whatever they want, they just know that they will have to deal with any repercussions that the tires may have on the vehicle... some choose to stay only with the OEM tire, others give other options... some have a narrow offering solely because stocking more than a few sku's is too pricey...

I do agree somewhat that directional tires should be avoided... with a directional tire you cannot cross rotate the tires and therefore have a higher chance of uneven tire wear, though not always...

With those MB issues with the A/S Sports you referred to, did switching to a different tire resolve their issue with the drifting?
thanks

yup...

in the beginning, we just switched to the Pilot Sport, then, when it was available in the correct sizes, the PS2...

there weren't many other options at the time in Michelin - these were all typically low profile 18" fitments...
