Default Eagle F1 or PS2?

I need new tires soon and wondering which one would you guys get? Goodyear Eagle F1 or Bridgestone PS2. Give me your feedback. Eagle F1 is about $180 each where as PS2 is $300 each.

You get what you pay for but of course with diminishing returns.
So you need to think what you intend to do with your new tires, and if the extra money spent on the tires will be worth it for your purposes.

You say you also have a 335 so what exactly are your requirements for the new tires and are you the type of person who can afford to spend the extra money with no consequence or not?
Would you have some other purpose for that $500 that would bring you greater pleasure or benefit that you otherwise could not afford?

If I am struggling to pay my mortgage perhaps blowing an extra $500 on tires wouldn't be smart.

If instead I have so much dispensible income and could easily go out and spend $500 on on a single dinner with some friends, then I probably wouldn't notice spending the extra money on tires either.

Just wondering since tire racks has the Eagle F1 better rating than the PS2. And I heard some opinions that the F1 is good and some say the PS2 is better. Just wanted to hear what people on this board thinks.

If PS2 performs far way better than F1 then I will jump on the PS2. Money isn't a issue for me as long as it is worth it in my opinion.

I wouldn't say the PS2 performs way better, I would say they are comparable tires.

Which Eagle F1? I had a set of the Eagle F1 GS-D3 and thought they were one of the best summer treads I have ever owned.

Have you look into other brands such as Bridgestone and Yokohama? I personally would go with the Bridgestone RE11's or Yokohama ADVAN Neova's AD08 over the two that you have in mind. But again, your intended use with these tires will determine which is rightly suited for you.

I have bridgestone RE11 on my 335 right now. Not that awesome in my opinion.

Btw, is this the Eagle F1 you are talking about?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-NEW...lenotsupported

$300 for 1 pair of eagle F1

What is the difference between the one from tire rack?

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Tire rack cost $200 each while ebay cost $150 each.

I really do not know the difference btw. the one listed on tirerack and ebay besides maybe the ebay ones are older production. As far as the RE11's, they are more than what's needed on the street for almost all application less going full R-compound tires. They grip good, steering feel is great, turn in is crisp.. What more can you ask Also, you never answered what your intention for these tires are. Maybe you haven't pushed your 335i to its limit yet..

It feels like my old Falkens FK452 and Toyo is better than my RE11. Just my $.02

What I am looking for is an all around tire like wet/dry traction, road noise, handles, treadwear, etc.. only thing that I can see that has the best all around tire is either PS2 or F1.

x2 I have them on my 01 GS 430 and they are by far the best tires I've owned..dry grip is fantastic, wet grip is simply THE BEST there is. I've never felt so confident driving in the rain.

They also look great, they are quiet and I just love them.

I haven't had PS2s but they are also considered by many to be the best or among the best and its standard on tons of sports cars/sedans.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I am going with the F1.
