Michelin Pilot V91
Our 09 IS 250 AWD came with Michelin Pilot M4MX V91 tires. I need one because I picked up a nail in the side wall (car has 366 miles on it). The dealer cant find one. They called Michelin and they said that tire isn't even available in the USA yet.
Any truth to this? The dealer gave us a loaner and is trying to get the tire. But if it isn't available yet, maybe we should look at other brands?

you can't mismatch tires on an AWD car...
unfortunately, when a brand new car comes with a tire for the first time, it may take a little while for the tire manufacturer to ramp up production enough to supply them...
you have two options - 1) call Michelin, explain your problem, fair chance they give you a full set of tires or 2) talk to Lexus, explain you now have a car you can't drive because of one tire...
in reality, there should be some sort of availability of this tire, and if there isn't, it's Lexus/Michelin's fault... I realize this is a road hazard kinda thing, but at the same time, its not your fault that they don't have a replacement...
whatever you do, do not settle for any other tire, even if it is a Michelin, unless it is the exact identical tire - you could end up damaging the center diff over time if it is even a small amount difference in diameter... (unless of course they replace the whole set for you)
