Wheel locks. Why bother?
I keep hearing countless examples of people getting their wheels stolen even with wheel locks. I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle of dealing with them every time my tires get rotated, replaced. Is it just aftermarket wheels getting taken or are OEM wheels as well. Are all wheel locks created equal? Or are their brands that provide better security than others.
Thanks

20 different locks is better, for the simple fact that you have to keep all the keys in your car (in case of a flat). if you have one lock on each wheel and they break in and take it out of your glove box, kiss the rims good bye

The keys are in my car but its not just out in the open or easily acessible through my glove box. I have a small thick steel safe lock box for the keys as well. All those measures are just to slow thieves down.

i assumed that if you put 20 locks on your car that you would protect the keys.
i was indicating that by far the majority of people leave them out, glove box, cup holder, trunk,

thieves will get through that no matter what...but the idea is to buy you enough time to lock and load your uncle's 12 gauge

thinking about getting the Rays lugnuts tho.. the one with the inserts. but iono

True, that if they want it bad enough, having lock nuts won't stop someone from stealing your wheels.
But, they have to try harder to get them.
This is enough to stop at least a few theives who are looking for an easy steal.
Its better than not having them.
Either they have a set of all the "universal" keys and have to try them all, or they have to scope out your car before hand.
Why bother with all that when you can find someone with wheels who, like you, didn't see the point of locks? All you need then is a tire cross.

Air suspension. . . done. If you can fit a jack under your ride and you are on air sus, your rims are too big for the car.
I have a hidden switch to turn on the air compressors. My switch box also has a security feature that allows you to lock it so you can touch it. I also have 2pc Kranze wheel locks to slow down theives. The top piece of the wheel lock keeps spinning and spinning and spinning. The average thief would go mad trying to take it off.
I usually park on the streets so I got to play it safe
