Default Is this dry rot?

I noticed that one of my tires had minor cracks going all the way around the tire. These are near the lip of my rim (sidewall). Should I be concerned?

kinda... pretty common on the goodyears to do that - its heat based and is nothing to worry about unless it gets significantly worse... just double check your air pressures - sometimes it can be caused by an unwarranted heat buildup in that area...

then, better question... are they goodyears??? sidewall design looks like it too (along with that, which is common on them)

Yup! They're Goodyear Eagles F1 GS-D3. Only 1 of the 4 tires has this problem... You can barely tell that they are there unless you're bending down to inspect them (a normal person would only see them if they were bending down to add air to the tires). So I shouldn't worry too much about them unless they get worse?

yah, just keep an eye on it, and its air pressure... chances are it was run a few psi low for a while... no worries, just make sure it doesn't get any worse... not a bad idea to poke your head under the car with a flashlight and make sure the inside sidewall is no worse too...

Alright, thanks for the advice! I check my air pressure monthly so that shouldn't be a problem.

any chance that tire gets the most sun when it's parked?

Hmm, I parked it outside for about a year (2008) but it's now in a garage most of the time since I rarely drive it. I think that side of the car had the same exposure to sunlight, if not less than the other side of the car.

Looks pretty minor, tire dressing will over time cause the sidewall to dis color and show this sort of minor cracking. Not sure if that might be the problem or not but anyway doesn't appear to be a structural problem.
